Our 10th Anniversary month saw the 40th resource matching workshop hosted by Hyster-Yale Group in the Armagh, Banbridge Craigavon Borough Council area. In attendance were 23 companies from across the province. After a networking lunch, the event was introduced and began with a case study presentation from Hyster-Yale that explained the benefits of how they have applied Industrial Symbiosis to their business model.
To celebrate our anniversary, Elaine Kerr Deputy Director presented on the success over the past 10 years as well as a look to the future of Industrial Symbiosis. Special thanks were given to Director Trevor Knipe as he enters retirement at the end of the year.
After everyone enjoyed our special Industrial Symbiosis cake, the rounds of resource matching and discussions began, with Practitioners facilitating and identifying resources and synergies. Delegates in attendance were from a mix of industries and sectors and with some new to the event, they were impressed by the diversity and opportunities to find savings in their businesses. “Very well organised and co-ordinated. Good opportunity to network and learn about other businesses, especially during the resource matching workshop.”
When group findings were presented to the delegates, they received a short presentation from the Carbon Trust, identifying opportunities to avail from additional funding for their business. The event wrapped up with a Hyster-Yale facility tour where delegates gained insight and found out more on the Industrial Symbiosis Service.
