“ This workshop opened my eyes to the industrial possibilities available. A great event for local businesses!”
Our first workshop of 2017 took place at The Old Bushmills Distillery and what a great morning it was! The Causeway Coast is always one of our favourite locations to attend with an abundance of businesses in the area all keen to work towards sustainability. After a very warm welcome from Mayor Maura Hickey, the workshop got underway with a full house of delegates.
Four rounds of resource matching led to a lot of discussion and productivity around the room. Difficult waste streams, unusual resources and new projects were all included in the mornings activity and new opportunities were discovered.
The mornings workshop led to some huge results. Out of the 234 matches identified a potential of £1,301 520 million in cost savings could be achieved if these matches come to fruition. These figures could be invaluable to businesses in the area and further afield.
After the workshop delegates were treated to a tour of the historical distillery and had the opportunity to learn more about their processes and operations. It was a great way to finish the event and everyone enjoyed their small sample of the world famous Irish Whiskey. Plans are already in place for more events to take place over the coming year with a particularly special workshop in November to celebrate our 10th Anniversary!
